Single vineyard sourced fruit, crafted with care, steeped in family history, but with a modern approach – this only begins to describe the special wines produced by the family behind ‘Aristotelis ke Anthoula’ wines.
Things kicked off humbly for the winemaking family in the 80s. With only a few barrels produced yearly for home consumption from grapes sourced from the Western Sydney Markets. Original caretakers Aristotelis and Anthoula made natural lo-fi wines from this fruit in the garage of their family home. The idea was simple, to make delicious and pure wine with no additives.
Fast forward a few decades and that ethos hasn’t changed, only the location (and the tonnage of fruit sourced). Tony Zafirakos has taken the reigns in the late 2010s along with his partner Maddison.
The winery is now located on the pristine South Coast of NSW, producing considered natural wines for the greater market. Fruit at this stage is sourced from varying vineyards close to their home on the South Coast.
New in store we have their rich and rewarding ‘Little Red’, their spritzy ‘Pata Trava’ Pet-Nat, or their juicy, tropical wine aptly named ‘Pash & Pop’.
