Big River Distilling co. was established in Canberra by Clyde Morton and his wife Susan. Clyde has a wealth of experience, initially as a physicist but then as a winemaker, working with wineries such as Clonakilla and Mount Majura. Distilling delicious Gin does seem to be a great way to combine all his experience, skills and talents. Doesn't it?
This week we received Big River Distilling Co's Pink Gin and Fig Gin Liqueur. These aren't your run of the mill spirits, these are show stoppers. The Pink Gin is inspired by the cocktail of the same name. It is made utilising rhubarb, vanilla and ginger. It is dry, aromatic and impossible to stop smelling. Such complexity is great over ice or simply with a dash of tonic.
The Fig Gin Liqueur begins life as their Cinnamon Gin which is then added to a heroic amount of fresh figs and left to steep for months. The resulting beverage is exploding with fig flavours and aromas. At only 26%abv this could be the summer drink you have been looking for.
