Castle Rock Estate is one of Australia's best winemakers. Trophies, awards and great reviews are consistently heaped upon this family owned winegrower. Quality is unquestionable, as is value; if these wines were from Tassie, they'd be twice the price. Look out for their Pinot Noir and Riesling. Here's a couple of new additions:
Castle Rock Estate 2024 Riesling
The flagship of Castle Rock Rieslings since its inception in 1986. A pure fruit expression of terroir 6 Riesling blocks across the dramatic granite Porongurup Ranges.100% free run juice, minimal skin pickup during pressing, and fermented in stainless steel with minimal intervention to highlight the pure fruit. Crushed lime leaf and citrus blossom, balanced and delicate palate, fine acid line and long finish.
Castle Rock Estate 2024 ‘Skywalk’ Riesling
Contrasting winemaking style to the estate Riesling, using juice from closest to the skin - providing lower acidity, more phenolic extraction, and more flavour. Perfumed jasmine and talc, lemon zest and sherbert once left to breathe. Abundant nashi pear and melon, and a long finish.
