Darling Estate

New local wines - Darling Estate

The Darling Estate story is 6 generations old and extends to the present day where John Darling and his daughters - Sophie & Grace, own and operate the Koombahla Vineyard and Winery in upper King Valley, the very same Vineyard that sold fruit to Brown Brothers in the 80-90's and enabled them to create many award winning wines.

Their fruit is known for its intensity thanks to the summer breeze that comes from the mountains keeping the nights cool, as well as the rich volcanic soil.

Aligoté
Wild ferment, aged on lees for 12 months in a combination of old oak barrels and ceramic. Delicate pears, beautiful acid and a generous palate.

Pinot Blanc
Hand picked, basket pressed. Bright acidity matched with great structure and old oak influence make this a fantastic wine to have on its own or with food.

Chardonnay
Hand picked, basket pressed, aged on lees for 12 months. Wild ferment and light oak influence. Some tartrate formation in bottle - decant or don't bother (we don't), it's stunning either way.

Gamay
Hand picked, wild ferment with 25% whole bunch.
