Patina ‘Sticky Tea Riesling’ - An experiment in 2009, gone very, very right!
It's a fresh and fruity aperitif or lighter style dessert wine with a clean green tea finish.
“Since Riesling is notoriously stingy with its juice it always annoyed me to tip out the Riesling pressings knowing there was still up to 25% juice left. So in 2009 I added yeast to the pressed skins not sure what would result. Tea leaf, honey and lemon notes dominated after a few days of ferment so I decided this could make a very interesting sticky/aperitif style with a bit of an iced tea slant” – Winemaker, Gerald Naef
Orange Mountain Estate ‘Mountain Ice’ Viognier – Dessert in a bottle!
The Orange Mountain 2023 Mountain Ice is made from Viognier grapes and after they are crushed and pressed the juice is further intensified by advanced freezing concentration technology – Mirroring the Ice Wine method, which is limited and rare, as it requires a vineyard to freeze and have the grapes still pressed whilst frozen!
