Evenfall Wines is located in the Tamar Valley in Tassie. It is relatively new label which shares its tasting room with the Sparkling Queen, Natalie Fryer from Bellebonne. What a great scenario and, along with viticulturist Mathias Utzinger of Utzinger Wines, promises to reach great heights in years to come (if not already given these two wines received 94 & 95 points respectively from Halliday Wine Companion).
Evenfall Chardonnay, Tasmania
"Evenfall Chardonnay aims to be medium-bodied but fine and elegant, with floral notes and herbal freshness, through to a richer, lemon-curd textured palate and finish. Excellent with firmer, fleshed fish or shellfish, through to poultry and roast pork."
Evenfall Pinot Noir, Tasmania
"Pinot Noir from the Derwent and Tamar Valleys was hand picked and partially destemmed to open top stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Lightly hand-plunged as required during ferment, followed by gentle pressing off skins to tank for malolactic fermentation, with careful maturation in oak for 10 months (20% new French oak)."
