What is G.A.B.S you may ask?
Well the ‘Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular’ is an annual beer festival held over several major cities in Australia during May and June. The idea loosely behind the event is for breweries (both big and small) to brew and enter a unique beer for the festival in the hopes of being crowned G.A.B.S champions. Some brewers do play it safe, while others go all out with crazy ingredients. And with usually over 100+ entries into the event you can be sure that the whole flavour wheel is covered.
We’ve been lucky in store to secure a few of these eclectic G.A.B.S beers already. From Badlands Brewery’s monster 9.1% Wee Heavy, to Reckless Brewing’s citrusy and creamy Chardonnay Sour, to Frenchies Brewery Dark Red Belgian Ale known as the Wonder Ale!
So make sure to pop in store or browse online as we expect to get a flurry of weirder and more wonderful G.A.B.S beers to store over the next fortnight.
