A recent addition are these great value wines from Adelaide Hills' Emmalene. Emmalene is owned and run by the Bulman and Bartsch families and is a sustainable winery with all wines made with minimal additions.
We are currently stocking three varieties from Emmalene; Kooli, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Kooli is a lightly spritzed white wine that is traditionally served chilled in a glass tumbler. It is also slightly lower in alcohol (10.5%), resulting in a light, refreshing wine perfect for the warmer days. If you have every enjoyed the Txaloi wines from Spain's northern Basque Country, this is it. Chilled, in a tumbler, with a bit of ice, it's the wine of summer.
The Chardonnay is from sites around Forreston and some of the wine is matured in 30% new oak giving a subtle richness whilst preserving the fruit characteristics. The palate is peach and citrus with a gentle oak complexity that lets the fruit shine.
The Pinot Noir is a medium bodied red from the Lenswood region. Matured in French oak barriques for around ten months to give a subtle spice. A palate of red berries and rhubarb and gentle oak, the wine will pair well with roast duck, charcuterie boards and lighter dishes such as beetroot salad.
