Memento Wines is an up and coming local wine business founded by three friends Jono Thompason (the winemaker) with Luke and Kirby Heyme. Based in Rutherglen they make their wines from vineyards throughout the north east of Victoria.
Their range covers a few different varieties and are great representations of each. What links the range is the magnificent value for money. Memento has been able to showcase some of the best grape variety/region combinations but do so at very affordable prices.
Whether that is a Sangiovese from Beechworth or a Shiraz/Durif from Rutherglen, these wines all punch well above their weight. It is easy to find great wines with an unlimited budget. There is a special kind of joy when you find something really delicious at a price that everyone can afford.
