Orbis Wines is one McLaren Vale's most exciting winemakers, and with young gun Lauren Langford on board, there are exciting vinous exploits ahead. We have a few of the Orbis wines in the shop including the Whole Bunch Shiraz and Grinch Tempranillo blend. These are both very handy wines.
"Orbis wines express their unique terroir while remaining vibrant and delicious. Orbis wines are made with low, to no sulphur additions, no added fining agents and are unfiltered, gluten free and vegan. Producing wines here on the estate means the mere 200m journey to the winery eliminates the need to make in-field sulphur additions, keeps the fruit cool and in pristine condition and minimises transport related carbon emissions. We use indigenous yeasts fermentation to create wines that truly reflect of our unique site."
Orbis Grenache Tempranillo
"A fresh, juicy wine filled with bright red berry fruit characters on the nose and palate. Rose petal, dried thyme, and with hints of black pepper. The grapes from the two varieties were handpicked, destemmed and separately fermented in stainless steel, with a portion of the wine aged for 6 months in French oak."
Orbis Whole Bunch Shiraz
"A lively and expressive wine, with bright berry fruits on the nose and palate. Lip smacking cherry and blueberry, with Aperol and spice. The grapes were handpicked and destemmed, with a portion retained for whole bunch fermentation. Matured in French oak Hogsheads for 8 months, with full lees contact for increased texture and mouthfeel."
