Winning Halliday’s Dark Horse Winery this year, the anticipated Renzaglia wines have finally arrived in the shop. And yes, we all know that we’ve stocked the trusty Renzo wines before, however recently we were lucky enough to get out hands on their 2021 release of ‘Di Renzo’. If you have yet to hear about this little gem, you better read up.
Basically, Di Renzo came about after a family holiday in 2015. Wondering about the future of Renzaglia Wines, the opportunity came to the son of Sandy and Mark; Sam, to move back to ol’ Bathurst and create some pretty cool stuff.
Working with his Dad and trying to produce wine over the past few years despite fires, droughts, oh and Global pandemics, Renzo has managed to produce something special whilst paying respects to the land and aiming to leave it better than how he found it.
Their vermouths (yes, finally some local vermouths) all are made using local foraged ingredients such as wormwood, wattle seed, dandelion root, fennel flower and so many more! Tasting these vermouth’s truly express the land they came from and whilst we all know we shouldn’t be judging bottles by the label; these bottles make it pretty hard not to.
