Architects of Wine 'Normale' Nebbiolo
Nebbiolo, far and away David's favourite variety and this is a great example of his lighter style. After declassifying all the 2016 Nebbiolo it's great to have a single varietal wine back for this release. A blend of 2 Adelaide Hills vineyards, Kersbrook and Uraidla - Kersbrook being the warmer site adds the fruit weight and intensity whereas the cooler Uraidla lends the delicacy, perfume and acid. 100% destemmed, individually open fermented, they were both left on skins for almost a month. Aged independently in a mix of old French hogsheads and barriques until being blended just prior to bottling. Super aromatic bright red cherry fruit to the fore with more savoury herb characters evolving with time. Gentle tannins build with more air to an ethereal, delicate yet complex wine.
