Traditionally brewed when the snows begin to melt in the Bavarian alps, bringing mountain streams and ultimately the blossoms of spring; maibock is a beer for celebration.
We know it's not quite spring here, but after 3 months of lagering, we simply couldn't wait any longer. Perhaps we should view it more as a winter warmer!
Heavier in alcohol and body, but with a paler golden hue, our maibock underwent a multistep decoction mash in an attempt to attain the flavours typically found when brewed in Germany.  This beer is malt forward with a mild hop spice underlay.  Best enjoyed by a warm fire or in a pub out from the brewing storm.  Cheers to the end of Winter!
