The vines are around 30 years old and produce rich and sweet flavours, The wine has chocolate and herbal flavours, including mint. It is mouth filling and generous on the palate.

Huon Hooke gave it 90 points "The bouquet is earthy and subdued, mellow and gently peppery, while the palate is savoury and medium-bodied, intense and bright, with plenty of drink-now charm."
