96 Points "From the Coal River Valley, equal portions of clones 777, D2V6 and 115, wild-fermented with 20% whole bunches, matured for 10 months in oak (22% new). Attractive wine, which opens quietly, then rapid and major development of plum/dark cherry fruit on the long palate." James Halliday
93+ Points. "Pinot noir from Tasmania’s Coal River Valley. Direct from the winery: Made with “equal portions of 777, D2V6, and 115 clones harvested on different days. Around 20% whole bunch fruit was included in the wild fermentation. Total time on skins varied from 12 to 15 days over the 3 clones. Maturation in French oak for just under 10 months with 22% new oak. Bottled February 2019.” Real substance to the palate here both in flavour and texture. Forest berries and cedar, a mint note, ample undergrowth and alpine herbs. There’s a bloom off boysenberry too, not sweet but ripe. Overall this wine is both velvety and grainy/spicy at once. It’s a pretty damn impressive wine. For all of its complexities it remains incredibly fresh." The Wine Front, Campbell Mattinson
